Understanding the Hong
Kong Protests
To understand
the Hong Kong protests you need to go back into History.
China was never
colonized by a European Country so the Chinese Government still has
control over China where as countries that were colonized by the
Europeans have very little control of there own country even after
independence .
For example the
African Country of Niger produces 80 % of Uranium for Frances
Uranium reactors but there is no Uranium reactor in Niger.
The effect of
the slave trade on African leadership was to completely destroy it as
African Kings were busy catching slaves to buy guns so they themselves
did not become slaves. The wholes social fabric of African countries was destroyed.
So the control
of Chinese recourses still remains in the control of the Chinese.
However the
Europeans did indirectly penetrate into China by the sale of Opium.
The effect of
the highly addictive opium been smoked by the Mandarin ruling class was
not so extreme like what happened in Africa but none the less it
disturbed the subtle balance of leadership and increased the level of
exploitation of the lower classes.
This latter had
the knock on effect of increasing the popularity of the Communists
fighting the exploitation of the ruling classes in the 20th
Century.
In other words
if the British (and other countries –although mostly British) had not
sold Opium to China there would most likely not be a communist Party
ruling China today.
Due to the
superiority of the British military power Hong Kong was taken from China
and created as an Island for the storage of the opium on route to China.
The Chinese
Communist party ended up with the same problems all other communist
countries had .The initial writer of Communism Karl Marx wanted the
working proletarian to get all the profit for their work but he died in exile in
England before there ever was a communist country so he had no time to
correct any errors of his theory when it was put to practice.
In practice
communism ended up as another form of capitalism where the profit went
to the state instead of the private factory owner so it became state
capitalism.
Due to the hard
working and practical nature of the Chinese worker a new twist was
introduced to the Chinese version of communism. Foreign capitalists now
go to China to buy merchandise to avoid high wages and environmental
pollution in their own countries.
The communist
state gets their tax from every container and the businessmen get their
goods.
The only
unhappy person in this system is the exploited Chinese worker so like
all the communist countries China had to become a dictatorship to
continue its state capitalism. To begin with all the communist countries
were not dictatorships but due to them been an economic failure the
leaders had to create a dictatorship in order to continue their
leadership.
So now that
Hong Kong is part of a Communist country while the Hong Kong people are not
happy hence the protests of 2019
Within the
joining of Hong Kong back to China so we get the meeting of state run
capitalism with private run capitalism but within China now there is a
lot of private capitalism and long gone are the days of communes and
cultural revolutions in China .
How about
changing China to be like Hong Kong
instead of the other way around . The Hong Kong people are
relatively happy . Christians ,Buddhists , Hindus and Muslims live side
by side in religious harmony and peoples personnel views were/are respected in Hong Kong .
